The foal collection 2018 of the Elite Foal Auction Borculo is known and can now be viewed online on the Borculo website. A total of 63 jumping foals and 70 dressage foals endured the strict selection. They will come under the auction hammer on Wednesday August 29 (jumping foals) and Thursday August 30 (dressage foals) at Paardensportcentrum Lichtenvoorde in Vragender.
Best Dutch dressage lines
When we focus on the dressage collection, it is a real pleasure to see all this wonderful talent. The selected foals excel in movement and in model and have a very high genetic quality. The sires form a nice mix of proven Grand Prix stallions and stallions that will grow towards this level in the future. A brief look brings up names such as Zonik (2x), Totilas (3x), Desperados, Expression (3x), Dream Boy (2x), Vitalis (4x), For Romance (4x), Governor, Glock’s Toto Jr. (3x), Franklin (3x) and Iconic B.
These sires have further secured qualities that usually are already present from the dam’s side. After all, we can state with certainty that the best dam lines in Dutch dressage breeding will be represented at our auction. We see famous matriarchs like Endy, Vurona/Murona, Charites, Corieta, Lola-G and Warmante and a remarkable number of foals related to contemporary success horses, such as Charmeur (Madeleine Witte-Vrees), Glock’s Johnson TN (Hans Peter Minderhoud), Imposantos (Bart Veeze), Fürst Jazz (Diederik van Silfhout) and Fallatijn (Theo Hanzon/Laura Tomlinson).
“Breeders know what the market demands”
Jan Markink is proud of this special dressage collection. “The selection committee, consisting of Eugène Reesink, Nol Gerritsen and scouts Emmy de Jeu and Marcel Sterrenburg, has succeeded brilliantly in her assignment. Of course, we also thank the breeders who know what the current market demands. For sure we are going to see foals from this collection act in front at an inspection, stallion show or in the sport in the nearby future. But first we count down towards our auction on August the 30th”, thus the president of Foal Auction Borculo.
