Enola’s Emerald Z top lot at successful CSI Foal Auction

Enola's Emerald Z

The second Borculo CSI Foal Auction during Jumping Schröder Tubbergen concluded with Enola’s Emerald Z being the top lot worth € 20,000. With an average price of € 13,500, this second edition again proved itself owing mainly to a superb collection and a wonderful atmosphere.

Interest from abroad

On behalf of the Borculo Foal Auction organisation Ton Lautenschutz looked back on a successful evening just after the auction: “We’re very pleased that we managed to present yet another fruitful auction with excellent prices. Our selectors Floris van Leuken and Pieter Jan Berkers composed a truly splendid set of foals. The € 13,500 average is pleasing to every breeder.” Several foals were sold abroad. One of them was sold to the United States through VDL-Stud mediation, while another foal was sold to England. The other foals remain in Dutch hands.

Enola’s Emerald Z

The only filly in the collection of seven foals, top lot Enola’s Emerald Z derives from a true performance stem. Her sire Emerald hardly needs any introduction. Her dam Enola (s. Corland) is a sister to no less than four international jumping horses. Oelala (s. Halifax van ’t Kluizebos, out of Jutravola, by Numero Uno) materialised her worth with an equally excellent € 18,000. Oelala also combines a sire jumping at international level with a dam line rich in sport, such as the approved stallion Carbani jumping at 1.60m level. Other top prices: 7.Charlie’s Talent Z (Chacco Blue) €16,000; 2. Orlando Grandia (Candy de Nantuel) € 13.000; 1. Bukowskey SR Z (Berlin) € 10,000; 3. Opertuno (Comme Il Faut) € 8,500.

You never walk alone

The auction night was opened with a special lot, a statue made by Erna Visser. The € 7,500 was donated entirely to “Samenloop voor Hoop Tubbergen/KFW”, a Dutch cancer charity. “We’re happy to be able to contribute to this good cause. With this donation, the “You never walk alone” walking group will be joining the charity walk on 21 and 22 September supporting KWF, the national foundation for cancer research,” Lautenschutz explains.
