Tonight, the new auction season of Foal Auction Borculo kicked off. For the first time, an early online foal auction was organised. The demand from buyers and supply of interesting foals meant the key ingredients were there to organise an edition in June. And it was a big hit, the auction yielded great average prices of 10.500 euros for the jumper foals and 11.375 euros for the dressage foals.
The top seller of the auction was the last lot to close: Racoon (Sir Donnerhall x Vivaldi) was the most popular and was sold to Dutch investors for an amount of 25.000 euro. A great final to a successful auction. Also Ricciardo LC (McLaren x Vivaldi) was in demand. The bidding duel ended at 20.000 euro and again it was a Dutch bidder that won. The top selling filly was Raya L.E. (Fontaine TN x Charmeur). A lucky buyer from England was able to acquire her for 17.500 euros.
Chacco Blue still in demand
The top selling jumper foal was Rush VDA (Chacco Blue x Heartbreaker). The buyers kept the suspense for quite some time, but eventually he was sold for 17.000 euros to a sport stable in Hungary. The alluring Russel also managed to draw attention to himself. For a long time, it seemed that Americans were going to buy the chestnut, but in the end, it were again Dutch buyers that can now call themselves the lucky new owners.
There were many bids placed from abroad, but the Dutch buyers got the better of the foreigners this edition. And so, the majority of the foals remains in the Netherlands.
Organiser Annelou de Man: “We are looking back on a beautiful evening and a good auction. I am proud that our team set up a collection with such quality. The prices for which the foals were sold are honest and transparent. I also want to compliment the breeders. They all came to the market to sell and we appreciate that. We do not put on a charade; what you see is what you get and with this approach we are looking forward to our auction in August with confidence.”
