The selection committees jumping and dressage consist of selectors and several scouts who advise and assist these selectors.
Dressage selection committee
Linda van Doorn
Selector Linda van Doorn performed successfully at youth competitions, rode at Small Tour level and trained stallions in KWPN performance tests for several years. Nowadays the young equestrian entrepreneur runs LvD Sporthorses in Lienden, Netherlands. She focuses on training and trading young dressage talent. Among other things, Linda purchases foals to train them later. Beside that she also breeds on a modest scale.
For many years, Peter Wetzelaer has worked as a rider and trainer for Stal Witte. He is familiar with the entire process of guiding top foals to become approved stallions as well as mare selections and training towards international level. In 2014, he started his own Stal Wetzelaer, which is situated on two locations: Stal Witte in Schijndel, Netherlands and Van de Goor family in Herpen, Netherlands. Peter concentrates on talented young dressage horses and buys foals annually.
Scout Emmy de Jeu runs De Jeu Dressage in the Dutch town Oosterstreek. With a fair share of breeding products in sport, this private stud was founded in the nineties by Emmy and her late husband Ton de Jeu. Emmy is the breeder of, among others, former Grand Prix mare Sisther de Jeu (s. Gribaldi, rider Edward Gal). In 2013, she won the prestigious KWPN Breeder of the Year title for dressage.
Emmy de Jeu (scout)
Scout Emmy de Jeu runt ‘De Jeu Dressage’ in Oosterstreek. Deze privéfokkerij, met tevens een aantal fokproducten in de sport, werd in de negentiger jaren gestart door Emmy en wijlen Ton de Jeu. Emmy fokt onder meer met de voormalige Grand Prix-merrie Sisther de Jeu (v. Gribaldi, ruiter Edward Gal) en behaalde in 2013 de prestigieuze KWPN-titel ‘Fokker van het Jaar’ in de dressuurrichting.
Marcel Sterrenburg (scout)
Scout Marcel Sterrenburg runs the well-known De Beukenvallei dressage stables in Leende together with his partner Joyce Lenaerts. Marcel primarily focuses on breeding and training dressage horses. Among other things, De Beukenvallei is registered as the breeder and co-owner of KWPN performance test champion Iconic B (s. Bon Bravour).
Jumping selection committee
Foal selector Pieter-Jan Berkers is one of the driving forces behind Stal ’t Hofstee in Lattrop. Before that Pieter-Jan worked at renowned stables such as De Wiemselbach and De Margarethahoeve. He was also Chef d’Equipe for the golden Indonesian team at the SEA Games. Pieter-Jan uses all of his knowledge and experience at Stal ’t Hofstee for training, buying and selling young horses and training talented young riders.
Floris van Leuken
Foal selector Floris van Leuken and his partner Sandra Schmücker are at the basis of Holsten Stables in Putten. The yard consists of a stud and trading stable aiming at breeding, raising, training and competing with jumping horses of primarily Holstein descent. Well-known breeding products are Cobra (s. Carthago), Quality Time (s. Quantum) and Robin Hood (s. Animo).
Mark Oude Griep (scout)
In daily life scout Mark Oude Griep works as a salesman at Vente Horse Feed. In this position he visits several professional stables on a weekly basis. In addition, Mark scouts young jumping horses and assists people who are looking for interesting horses for breeding. Mark himself also breeds a couple of jumping foals annually. In his breeding he focusses on the international sport, with retaining a functional and appealing conformation.
