Sire and uncle of Borculo JST foal Noah W play leading role during FEI Nations Cup of La Baule

How up-to-date the performance genes at the Borculo JST Foal Auction are became once more clear during the Longines FEI Nations Cup of La Baule. Both sire and uncle of the filly Noah W (picture) played a leading role at this prestigious nations cup. First of all sire Quabri de l’Isle was again in brilliant form with Pedro Veniss. The combination was responsible for the best performance of the winning Brazilian team. Closely behind the Brazilians the Netherlands finished second. In the second round Sterrehof’s Calimero and Marc Houtzager paved the way for the Dutch squad towards this nice result.

Calimero is closely related to Noah W’s dam Benthe W. Both of them originate from the dam Maifa (s. Libero H), herself a full sister of the KWPN top progenitor Ustinov and his brother, the also KWPN approved Nijinski. The sire of Calimero is Quidam de Revel (s. Jalisco B). Quidam is also a half-brother of Dollar du Murier (s. Jalisco B), on his turn the sire of Benthe W!

‘A real jumping machine’

The past year and a half the still young Sterrehof’s Calimero showed with a strain of fantastic results (among others 1st Nations Cup Final Barcelona, GP Amsterdam and NC Mierlo and 3rd CHIO Aken, CHIO Rotterdam and The Dutch Masters-Indoor Brabant) that he is phenomenal at the highest level of our sport. His rider said earlier about him: ‘In my point of view Calimero is one of the best horses of Europe and arguably in the world. For sure it’s unbelievable what Calimero does. He is a real show jumping machine!’

Calimero’s niece Noah W will be auctioned at the Borculo JST Foal Auction on Friday June 1 during the CSI3* Jumping Schröder Tubbergen. More information can be found here.

The regular Elite Foal Auction Borculo 2018 will take place on Wednesday, August 29 (jumper foals) and Thursday, August 30 (dressage foals). The auction location is at Paardensportcentrum Lichtenvoorde in Vragender.
